facebook wall ေပၚကို blogpost တင္မယ္

As of November 22nd 2011, the option of importing a blog to Facebook notes will no longer be available.  Why Facebook has chosen to do this is beyond me.  In their message regarding this change they state, “The best way to share content from your website is to post links on your timeline.”

Incorrect, Facebook.  The best way to share content from your website is by importing a blog to Facebook notes.  Now, you’re telling us it is best to manually publish content to our timeline?  C’mon, don’t be crazy (said in my best “Nacho Libre” voice).

What was nice about importing a blog to Facebook notes was that it not only automatically posted to your timeline, but the notes had longevity, whereas timeline content continues to get pushed down into oblivion.  If all you did with notes was importing a blog to Facebook notes then all your notes would just be blog posts.  This would increase the probability of each post being read.

On the other hand, if one particular blog post was seen on your timeline, the viewer might only see a few more depending on how often you publish to your timeline.

So, the option of automatically importing a blog to Facebook notes is no longer.  However, you can still automatically post your blog content to your profile timeline.  If you want your blog posts as notes, you will now have to publish those manually.  Bummer.

Today I’d like to share an alternative to importing a blog to Facebook notes, by using Twitterfeed to at least automatically publish your content to your timeline (and your page if you have one and haven’t done so already).  Below are the steps:

Step 1: Sign up for FREE or log into Twitterfeed.
Step 2:  Create a new feed or edit an existing feed.

Step 3: If adding a new feed, make sure you test it first before continuing.  If you already have a feed added to Twitterfeed, skip this step and continue to the next step
Step 4:  Add your Facebook account.  Even if you already have a Facebook account enabled (as I do, seen below), such as your Facebook page, you can still add another Facebook location.
Step 5:  Follow the steps to authenticate a new Facebook account or if already authenticated click the “Connect with Facebook” button.
Step 6: If you already have your Facebook page activated, as the directions state leave this drop-down menu option to the default selection to activate your Facebook profile.  You can add both your Facebook page and your profile by completing this step twice.
Step 7:  As you can see below, you will get a success message confirming the service was created.  You’ll notice I now have two Facebook services active.

*Note: Currently there is no way to “turn off”  importing a blog to Facebook notes.  So, you’ll want to leave the box unchecked in Twitterfeed for your Facebook profile until after November 22nd, 2011.  Otherwise, your wall will get duplicate posts from your blog–from Twitterfeed and from importing a blog to Facebook notes.
Step 8: Once finished, click the “all done” button and you’ll be all set!
There you have it.  You now have an alternative to importing a blog to Facebook notes.
